Wonder Boy/Wonder Boy Returns/Wonder Boy Returns Remix[]
Octopuses appear as enemies. They jump out of water at random heights.
In Wonder Boy Returns, a boss Octopus also appears at the end of Stage 2-4 (unofficially known as Queen Octopus).
Wonder Boy in Monster Land[]
Octopuses appear as enemies but aside from jumping off, they can also spit projectiles at Book. They only appear in a few underwater areas.
Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap[]
Octopuses reappear under the name Fire Octopus. They appear in different colors and have the jumping ability from the previous game, but instead of shooting projectiles in an arc, they throw them in a straight line. They also have a star on their heads and throw fireballs instead of small black projectiles.
Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom[]
Octopuses appear as enemies and have the jumping ability from the previous games. They shoot an ink ball diagonally at Jin.
