Mudman is a recurring enemy from the Wonder Boy and Monster World series.

Wonder Boy in Monster Land[]
Mudmen appear as enemies. They collapse to the ground and slide back and forth across a small area. In this form, they are invulnerable to attack. They can only be attacked when they stand up to spit mud at Book that he can slash at them. They take several hits to be defeated. A stronger variant (called Tarman in the Master System version only) is also found in the game.
Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair[]
Mudmen and Tarmen first reappear in the game's ninth stage (arcade only). Unlike the previous game, they do not move back and forth and spit mud projectiles. Instead, they just move up and down and they're taller than they were in the previous game.
Monster World IV[]
The Mudman appears in Handera Volcano and will rise up to shoot a part of its body at Asha.
