Gold is the main currency of the Wonder Boy and Monster World series. It is used to purchase items and equipment. While it is normally dropped by foes and found in treasure chests, it can be found in hidden spots throughout the maps by jumping into them. In Monster World IV, you can receive a small fortune by selling Gold Bars to the Pompous Lady.
