Meka Dragon (メカドラゴン Meka Doragon), also known as Mecha Dragon, is a boss from Wonder Boy in Monster Land, Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap, its remake Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap, and Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom.
Wonder Boy in Monster Land[]
Meka Dragon is the leader of the monsters and the final boss. At first it appears to be a normal dragon, but after Book defeats it, it is revealed to be a robot from outer space. It attacks by releasing powerful flames from its mouth.
Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap[]
The game starts at the end of Wonder Boy in Monster Land, with Meka Dragon being the first boss. After its defeat, it casts a curse on Book that transforms him into a Lizard-Man.
Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom[]
Meka Dragon appears as a secret boss, the battle being identical to Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap. Defeating the dragon grants Jin one Life Heart.
Other versions[]
- In Saiyūki World, the Dragon was replaced by Kyuu Maou (きゅうまおう), the Bull Demon King (牛魔王). After his defeat, Kyuu Maou "reveals his true form" (しょうたいをあらわした Shoutai wo Arawashita).
- In Bikkuriman World, the Dragon was replaced by Shiso Jura and Meka Dragon by Black Zeus.
- In Mônica no Castelo do Dragão, the Dragon's appearance is the same, but it was renamed as Dragão Cospe Fogo (Spitfire Dragon).
- In Super Adventure Island, the Dragon was replaced by Evil God (邪神), who resembles a tall man wearing a mask and a robe, armed with a sword. After his defeat, he reveals his true form (邪神が正体を現した), a bizarre being with long claws. Besides the fire breath, the second form can also release a round projectile.
